Since 1990, the APPLES Service-Learning Alternative Breaks program, part of the Carolina Center for Public Service,  has provided opportunities for undergraduate students to spend their school breaks engaging in service opportunities in various regions of the United States. Currently the program is seeking a graduate student to act as an adviser, to assist administration, and to provide general program support from August 2015 until April 2016.

Job Description

The alternative breaks graduate assistant will work 18 hours a week for 32 weeks, for a total stipend of $16,000. He or she will work with undergraduates, staff, and community organizations to help develop and plan alternate break experiences during the fall, winter, and spring breaks. Eligibility

All students enrolled in a UNC graduate program and interested in service-learning are welcome to apply. Experience with non-profits, teaching, or group facilitation preferred.
