There are currently 2 workshop opportunities for students interested in NSF Fellowships.

The prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for earlier career scientists is open to undergraduate seniors and first & second year graduate students in STEM fields.  The fellowship offers 3 years of support including $34,000 annual stipend and $12,000 cost-of-education allowance (to the institution).

1st Workshop

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Workshop: Enhancing your Competitiveness  

This workshop presented by Dr. Ashalla Freeman and will provide the following:

  • Overview of the mission of the NSF GRFP
  • Review of GRF application components and the review process
  • Tips for crafting a competitive application and determining when to apply
  • Insights from GRF awardees for crafting an award-winning application AND NSF GRF Reviewers will provide advice about what they look for in strong applications and common errors/omissions to avoid

Note: Applicants must not have a Masters degree or more than 12 months of postbaccalaureate training

2nd Workshop

NSF GRFP Peer Review Workshop

Join 25+ past NSF award winners for a peer-review session.

All stages of proposals are welcome at this event. Also, please bring multiple copies of your proposal for review.

This workshop is from Friday Oct. 13th from 1pm-3pm at Kenan Science Library.
