Danone Institute North America – a not-for-profit established by Danone North America – is soliciting proposals for its new One Planet. One Health Initiative, which will offer students and faculty the opportunity to design, implement and evaluate actionable community-based projects on sustainable food systems.

Teams of up to four members representing diverse fields related to food studies may apply to this opportunity and submit project ideas. The grant will provide seed funding for projects such as pilot studies, feasibility testing, needs assessments and planning grants. The top four teams selected will receive a $20,000 award to implement their projects and amplify their messages to a broader audience.

In addition, the top four teams will attend a four-day program in Boulder, Colorado that will include all payed traveling and training on sustainable food systems from experts in sustainability, implementation science, communication, nutrition, and economics, as well as presentations and panels involving community leaders such as farmers, retailers, corner store owners, WIC leaders, and other stakeholders in the sustainability food ecosystem. The program will conclude with the final four teams presenting their projects and a communication plan to a panel of experts. The team that presents the best communication plan for their project will be provided with an additional $10,000 award.

We’re welcoming applications from transdisciplinary teams including students, faculty and community members and would like to extend the invitation to you, your students and other university faculty. Attached you will find the Request for Proposals (RFP) brief for your reference. In addition, more details about the program can be found here: www.danoneinstituteNA.org

The online application form is currently available and open for submissions until June 1st, 2019.

Please feel free to share this opportunity with your students, colleagues, community members and other individuals in your personal and professional networks. Please let me know if you have any questions, as I look forward to hearing from you and hope you will consider participating in the One Planet.
