About the position

The Carolina Covenant Program in the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid is partnering with the Office of Research and Institutional Assessment (OIRA) to understand the experiences, strengths, and needs of Covenant Scholars. The Covenant is looking to hire a research assistant to work with OIRA to help design and facilitate studies that will contribute toward this goal. Results of these studies will help inform a strategic plan for the Carolina Covenant.

The Covenant is seeking a graduate student with experience in qualitative methodologies; experience conducting and analyzing surveys, interviews, and focus groups is highly preferred. Interest in access, equity, and success of underrepresented students in higher education is also preferred.

The research assistant can expect to earn $10,000 for their work on this project, which should conclude by July 2021. The stipend does not include tuition coverage. Supervision will be provided by Dr. Bryant Hutson, Director of Assessment in the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment in collaboration with Candice Powell, Director of the Carolina Covenant Program.
