Workshops
Workshops for graduate and professional students
Currently-enrolled UNC-Chapel Hill graduate and professional students seeking fellowships, dissertation support, research grants, travel, and other awards are welcome to attend our funding information workshops. We provide general instruction on getting the most out of our online databases and resources.
Unless otherwise noted, all regularly-scheduled workshops are held in the Health Sciences Library, room 307. Wait-listed students are welcome to attend but are not guaranteed access to a lab computer during the presentation.
Identifying funding sources workshops
In lieu of in-person workshops, the Graduate Funding Information Center has recorded a virtual workshop.
Scheduling a custom workshop
GFIC research assistants are available to conduct workshops for graduate courses, departments, and graduate student organizations at UNC-Chapel Hill. Please e-mail the Graduate Funding Information Center to schedule a workshop for your group.

Linked below are two versions of the presentation we used for our Fall 2023 workshops. The difference between these slide decks is the example list of awards (Humanities & Social Sciences slides 20 – 29 and STEM & Health Sciences slides 20 – 31).
