The UNC Center for Community Capital seeks two (2) graduate student research assistants to join our research team for the 2018-9 academic year. The center conducts projects related to mortgage financing, housing, community development, and income and wealth dynamics in underserved neighborhoods. The Center has two openings for research assistants to help with an ongoing project exploring the loan shopping experiences and outcomes of manufactured home owners who obtained home purchase financing. The successful applicants will:
- Be proficient in SAS programming
- Be able to carry out PhD-level multivariate statistical modeling and write up results
- Have experience with quantitative analysis of survey data
- Have excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail
- Be willing and able to work under tight deadlines
- Be able to work independently
Interest and experience in housing research and policy preferred, but not required.
The positions provide a competitive stipend with in-state tuition and health insurance benefits. Part-time work during the semester is required. Part- or full-time work during the summer may also be available. Center research assistants must be enrolled in a UNC graduate program during the academic year. Employment is contingent on the availability of funds.
