DukeEngage is seeking site coordinators for several of our international summer programs. The Site Coordinator (SC) is a key member and front-line administrator of each DukeEngage site. Primary responsibilities are to mentor program participants; support faculty/staff site leader(s); serve as the liaison between students, DukeEngage program leaders, and community partners; and coordinate service, social, cultural enrichment, and recreational activities and reflection sessions in consultation with program participants. The SC is also responsible for managing program finances, working with vendors providing goods and services for the DukeEngage site, gathering program data, and preparing periodic reports for program directors and the director of DukeEngage or his designate. Responsibilities will include on-site residence, as well as day, evening, and night commitments throughout the week.

DukeEngage in Neltume, Chile focuses on efforts to develop and strengthen workforce skills related to the transition of the temperate forest from logging to ecotourism. Supporting conservation activities including limnology of glacial lakes, re-forestation of native trees, assisting local botanical nurseries, and monitoring endangered species. https://dukeengage.duke.edu/program/chile/

DukeEngage in Ahmedabad, India collaborates with the non-profit organization Saath, based in whose mission is dedicated to educating deprived children of rural migrant families, assisting women of very low-income families in acquiring financial independence, helping to devise programs for low-income aspiring social entrepreneurs, helping with micro-credit financing projects, and contributing to/advising on artistic fabric design to help rural weavers access urban markets.https://dukeengage.duke.edu/program/ahmedabad-india/

DukeEngage in Kaihura, Uganda works with longtime partner, Bringing Hope to the Family through infrastructure projects, child and family education, community empowerment and sustainable development. https://dukeengage.duke.edu/program/uganda-bhtf/

DukeEngage in Butare, Rwanda focuses on optimizing local resources to provide farm-grown meals to hospitalized individuals and equip their caregivers with knowledge on nutrition, health, and sustainable farming practices. https://dukeengage.duke.edu/program/rwanda/

DukeEngage in Cape Town, South Africa collaborates with social agencies seeking to improve life in townships, documenting the history of District Six during the apartheid era, and promoting health and economic reform. https://dukeengage.duke.edu/program/cape-town-south-africa/
