About the position

The Graduate School is seeking a Research Assistant to assist the Fellowships and Funding team for academic year 2023-2024. This position is an integral part of The Graduate School fellowships and funding team and provides primary leadership for the Graduate Funding Information Center. It requires the ability to interact professionally with graduate students and administrators in graduate programs across campus. The position will enable the student to develop academic partnerships to provide much needed services to the graduate student population and to learn about the use of data in higher education within a large public university.

The position requires an average of 15-20 hours per week, and the compensation includes a nine- month stipend ($20,000), full tuition (in-state and out-of-state), mandatory student fees, and health insurance.

Responsibilities include assisting with fellowship application processes, leading funding information workshops, individual student consultations, survey editing and analysis, online research, data collection and entry, website maintenance, and managing communications.

Requirements: Attention to detail; strong presentation skills and willingness to speak in front of classroom sized group; strong communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred: Online survey administration experience in Qualtrics; experience with WordPress; experience with newsletter tools such as iContact; experience with data analysis and reporting
