The Graduate School is seeking two Research Assistants to support the Fellowships and Funding team for academic year 2024-2025. Both positions will report to the Director of Fellowships and enable you to develop academic partnerships to provide much needed services to the graduate student population and learn about communications and data management in higher education within a large public university.

  • Graduate Funding Information Center Research Assistant: This position provides primary leadership for the Graduate Funding Information Center, including leading funding workshops and individual student consultations, editing surveys, conducting online research, collecting and analyzing data, and managing communications (including website maintenance). It requires strong presentation skills and a willingness to speak in front of classroom-sized groups.
  • Graduate School Fellowships Research Assistant: This position is in an integral part of the Fellowships and Funding team and assists with implementing The Graduate School’s strategic plan and supports various fellowship application and award processes, including communicating with and advising students and programs, troubleshooting technical issues, entering and analyzing data. It requires the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and an interest in reviewing systems and processes to inform strategic improvements.

Each position requires an average of 15-20 hours per week. Compensation includes a competitive nine-month stipend, full tuition (in-state and out-of-state), mandatory student fees, and health insurance. An hourly role for Summer 2024 may be possible.

Requirements for Both Positions:

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with graduate students and administrators
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with data

Preferred Qualifications for Both Positions:

  • Online survey administration experience in Qualtrics
  • Experience with WordPress
